Its Get Involved Season

Happy November Ladies and Gentlemen,

With the year of 2018 coming to end, let’s take a time to look back and reflect on everything we learned from, struggled with, or conquered through this year. Indeed, this year we experienced a lot of movements created from the social aspects of our society that branched out from numerous of topics. There were quite a handful of movements that were relatable and some that were an eye opener. Today were going to focus only on two; however, I’ll still list others that may interest you as well.

The #MeTooMovement is a female empowering movement that aims to scream out to the entire world “DON’T COUNT ME OUT”. Women matter! It has been quite the fight to get the American Nation to still see women’s work equaled to man’s work. Women still get more rules and regulations in a work force, less pay, and no emotional support in anything they work for. With the #MeTooMovement, Women are able to be united and voice their concerns that they have and changes that they want in the country. I think this is a very powerful movement that has grown and served its importance.

Another movement that I came across was called FIRM. FIRM stands for Fair Immigration Reform Movement and it focuses on supporting the immigration reform and the civil rights of immigrants in this country. I was very touched and empowered by this movement because immigration is a huge deal and concern going on right now. I will never support a mother being separated from her child just because she doesn’t have the proper documentation to be a citizen of this country. The process to even become a citizen in this country is very long and it takes an ample amount of time. Of course, that’s all disregarded when it comes to the man who is running this country. It’s amazing that there are movements like FIRM who are supporting and fighting for immigration reform. This is very powerful, and I fully support this movement as it aims to grow and gain more supporters.

A lot of the movements that I came across I discovered on social networks, like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc. Social Network is a good place to discover what’s going on in the world, how people feel/are impacted, and how you can support. Here’s a few other movements to look into:

I hope you were able to find a movement that interests you and gains your support with their mission. Let’s try to branch out these movements in 2019, as we aim to change our society and make a difference that we can be proud to be apart of.

Someone Great (Review)

Someone Great , a Netflix film that was released last month in April is starting to become widely talked about all through social media. "Relatable", "Powerful", "Emotional" and "Close to home" are all the words and phrases that can be used to describe this outstanding film. This film starring Regina Rodriguez as Jenny, a music journalist preparing to move to California, shows the true emotions of a women during a post breakup. Unlike the movie Acrimony, this film is a perfect example of the positive handlings a women shows in her emotions prior to breaking up out of a long term relationship. This relationship wasn't as toxic as the one in Acrimony; In fact, it was a beautiful relationship that showed both sides understanding each other and truly connecting with one another. What makes this movie so relatable and powerful to women? The random flashbacks that show viewers how beautiful the relationship was, how it lead to the couple b...
